Travelling in an A-Class motorhome is a unique experience! For many camping enthusiasts, the expansive panoramic windshield and generous space inside the cab are reasons enough to consider making the switch.

Anyone who thinks that a spacious interior, premium features and full year-round usability always come with a hefty price tag should take a closer look at the new XL I 7812-2. With its motto: “More space, less bling”, it delivers all of the above at a surprisingly affordable price.

Living in the XL I

Living

The clean-lined furniture design, charming mix of white fronts and natural wood finishes, and well-balanced lighting concept come together to create a living room with genuine “hygge” appeal.
The integration of the cab into the main conversion creates a generously proportioned interior, further enhanced by exceptional headroom of 208 cm. There are also practical benefits: for instance, the seating lounge remains usable even when the pull-down bed (fitted as standard) is lowered.

A handy place for all the essentials you like to grab on your way in or out – jacket, slippers, umbrella, dog lead. These storage compartments are all about everyday convenience.
Fifth seat

A fifth seat with a 3-point belt is available as an option. The mounting points are pre-installed in the transverse seating. The seat itself is a folding model that takes up very little space when stored in the rear garage. When needed, it simply slots into the prepared mounts in the base of the right-hand transverse seating. The seat is comfortably padded, with an adjustable backrest, and since it faces the direction of travel, it can be used as a full-sized seat on longer journeys.
TV time

A television (option) can be installed ergonomically at eye level. The required power and antenna connections are already present in the vehicle.

Depending on how the seating area is being used, the TV can be swivelled to achieve the perfect viewing angle.
Sunlight and fresh air

A large panoramic skylight is positioned directly above the seating lounge. It keeps the seating lounge bright and airy, with plenty of fresh air and outdoor scents drifting in when you want them. A blackout blind and mosquito screen are included.

Sleeping

Sleeping comfort
The single beds are fitted with thick 7-zone cold foam mattresses – moisture-regulating and crafted in premium quality. All mattresses are supported by an ergonomic wooden slatted bed frame.
Two additional berths come as standard in the pull-down bed above the cab.

Sleeping area

Want even more space? Just pull out the roll-out slatted frame between the beds and insert the extra cushion – and hey presto, the single beds become a huge sleeping area spanning the full width of the vehicle, measuring 211 x 200 cm.
Wardrobes

At the foot of each bed there are spacious wardrobes – one with a clothes rail for hanging shirts, blouses and jackets, the other a classic linen cupboard, ideal for bulkier items. There is also an additional full-height wardrobe next to the shower.
Power at your bedside

Phones, watches or e-readers can be charged via USB ports located beneath the overhead lockers in the bedroom.
Pull-down bed

The practical pull-down bed tucks away almost invisibly above the cab during the day. When needed, it lowers easily to reveal two comfortable berths measuring 196 x 150 cm. Equipped with a high-quality cold foam mattress and wooden slatted bed frame, it ensures a great night’s sleep. And unlike pull-down beds in low-profile motorhomes, the seating lounge remains fully usable even when the bed is lowered!

Bathroom

Scale up your bathroom!
As standard, the bathroom is located on the left-hand side of the vehicle, with a separate shower cubicle on the right. The clever part? The bathroom door can be used to separate the entire rear section from the living room – creating a full-width centre bathroom. In this configuration, the central aisle becomes a spacious dressing room, and the full-height wardrobe next to the shower remains accessible even with the door closed.

At last – true privacy on board!

Centre bathroom

When the bathroom door is extended to close off the gangway to the living room, this creates a full-width centre bathroom with a separate shower cubicle. The bathroom offers plenty of storage space, a large sink and – crucially – a window for ventilation!

The bathroom is equipped with a large mirror surface that gives both taller and shorter occupants a clear view of themselves. The semi-transparent tinted window and forced-ventilation system in the roof ensure good air flow.
Storage space in abundance

Plenty of storage space is provided in the large bathroom cabinet, which also features raised edges that keep the contents from falling out when opened.
BATHROOM – Freshen up.

When not in use, the shower can be used as a place to dry wet clothes – or simply a wardrobe extension.
Full-height wardrobe

Even more space is available in the full-height wardrobe and the linen cupboard directly below it. An automatic light inside the wardrobe ensures you can always see clearly, even after dark.

Fully equipped kitchen

Thanks to its smart L-shaped design, the kitchen offers not only plenty of storage and worktop space but also a dedicated spot for your coffee machine – with a power socket conveniently located above it. The two-burner gas cooker with electric ignition ensures safe, easy cooking, and the large sink is perfect for washing up or rinsing fresh salad. Best of all? The kitchen has an open design and is cleverly positioned – no more squeezing past each other! Even when someone’s cooking, there’s still plenty of room to move around comfortably.

In addition to the large drawers, an extra-deep cupboard is located beneath the sink. The handy pull-out basket shown in the image is available from Dethleffs Original Accessories.
137 l fridge/freezer combination

The fridge also impresses with its generous 137-litre capacity – including a 15-litre freezer.
It features an AES system, which means it automatically selects the best available energy source. By default, it runs on gas. When connected to mains power, it switches to 230 V, and when the engine is running, it
operates on 12 V.
Tip: the bottom drawer is tall enough to transport large drinks bottles upright.
Ambient lighting

In the evening, the kitchen becomes a warm and inviting space.

5G Wi-Fi router
Your gateway to the web: the optional Wi-Fi router is neatly integrated into the overhead locker above the seating lounge. It delivers ultra-fast data transfer – whether you’re streaming videos, uploading holiday photos or working on the go.
Floor compartments
They provide an additional frost-protected storage space with easy access – ideal for heavy items like tins or bottles, but equally useful for shoes or tools.
Heat exchanger
It may look unassuming – but it actually does a lot! The heat exchanger allows the interior heating system to warm the engine’s coolant. This reduces the wear and tear on the engine caused by cold starts, especially in sub-zero temperatures. Conversely, the engine heat can be used to heat the living room while travelling.

Sun protection included
The 600 cm awning provides shade and helps keep the vehicle cooler by shielding the side wall from direct sunlight.

By the way – the awning is just as effective at keeping the rain off as it is at blocking the sun! And anyone who has ever sat under one, warm and dry during a downpour, knows just how cosy that can be!
Fully winterised
The XL A Class is built to be fully winterproof – with excellent insulation, a hot-water heating system and a 27 cm-deep double floor that safely houses all installations and keeps them out of the reach of frost. At the front, the double floor can be conveniently loaded across the full width of the vehicle – from both sides.
Loads of space
The rear garage is impressively spacious – and with garage doors on both the left and right, it’s also easy and convenient to load.
Heated rear garage
The standard hot-water heating system distributes warmth evenly throughout the vehicle – including the rear garage, thanks to integrated convectors. This means your holiday luggage stays protected from frost – even in winter.
Rear garage lighting An LED light strip in the rear garage ensures you can find everything easily, even in the dark.
Electric wing mirrors
The underslung mirrors provide a clear view to the rear – whether manoeuvring or on the move – and can be adjusted electronically.
External gas connection
Perfect for barbecues: your gas grill can be connected here – no need to remove the gas bottle from the vehicle.
Levelling system
The optional levelling system automatically levels the motorhome. The actual vehicle weight can be measured at any time using the integrated weighing function.
Twice the visibility
The rear area is monitored by two reversing cameras: one mounted at the top for an overview and one at the height of the number plate for a precise view of the ground.
Flush-fitting windows
The double-glazed flush-fitting windows provide excellent insulation and are seamlessly integrated into the side wall.

The cab lives up to expectations, offering plenty of space and a huge windshield. Blinds on the front and side windows provide both a blackout function and thermal insulation – keeping out the cold as well as the heat.
The 10-inch Naviceiver also comes as part of the standard specification – complete with DAB+, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The integrated navigation system can be programmed with your vehicle’s dimensions, so it always plans routes accordingly. This means you can avoid any unpleasant surprises, like suddenly finding yourself in front of a bridge that’s too low.
The digital displays are much easier to read than traditional analogue instruments. Plus, there are various options for customising the display to suit your preferences.
The ergonomic captain seats feature height and tilt adjustment, padded armrests with height adjustment, and integrated 3-point belts. A real safety boost – especially as the belt remains in the ideal shoulder position at all times.
