The following section focuses specifically on the Globetrail Active. The base range – with many more model variants – is presented here: Globetrail.
When Dethleffs builds a camper van, you can be sure of premium quality, a perfect ambience and well thought-out solutions. After all, our designers live and breathe camping and therefore understand exactly what you want and need
Globetrail ACTIVE boasts a modern, streamlined look throughout. High-quality fabrics, tasteful colour combinations and high-quality workmanship make the Globetrail a genuine Dethleffs.
The table in the Globetrail ACTIVE models is generously sized, offering plenty of space. An optional swivel extension is available. When not in use, it can be stowed discreetly under the table without taking up space, and can be swung out whenever a larger table surface is needed – or if the passenger seat is being used as part of the seating lounge.
Tip: many Globetrail drivers swear by the large storage shelf above the cab. It’s ideal for anything you want to keep within easy reach while on the road.
The Globetrail Active 600 KS was developed for families and anyone who simply needs more sleeping space!
Four sleeping berths are already on board as standard thanks to the double bunk bed in the rear.
A fifth sleeping berth is possible by converting the seating lounge as an option, although this is more of an occasional solution. If you need more than four sleeping berths on a permanent basis, then the optional pop-up roof is certainly the better choice, which offers two more sleeping berths, but of course comes with significant additional costs and additional weight.
Conclusion: The Globetrail Active 600 KS is an affordable option for travelling with four people, as it already offers four sleeping berths as standard.

The overhead lockers offer plenty of space for all your travel essentials.
If additional sleeping space is required, the optional sleeping roof can be installed.
The access to the sleeping roof is located above the seating lounge. Access is via a scaling ladder that is securely attached to the roof cut-out.
The standard skylight in the sleeping roof provides light and air in the interior - even when the roof is closed, as the window is positioned directly above the roof cut-out.
You can find more information about the sleeping roof under "Equipment"
There is no need to sacrifice comfort while on the road. A comfortable, spacious bed made of high-quality materials ensures total relaxation.
Double bed and oasis of relaxation in one. A high-quality mattress ensures a restful night’s sleep. It is fully underlaid with a 3D spacer fabric, whose breathable honeycomb structure allows for optimal air circulation beneath the mattress and prevents heat build-up.
Need more storage space? Simply raise the bed to create a huge storage area. Remove the step-up panel as well, and you’ll have a through-loading facility all the way to the cab – ideal for long items or bulky sports gear.
(600 DS)
Raising the double bed massively increases the storage space underneath. Need room for your surfboard? Just remove the step-up panel and you can load straight through to the cab.
(600 DS)
Ample storage space is provided in the overhead lockers on both sides of the vehicle. The open shelf at the rear is perfect for bulkier items like towels, dressing gowns and more.
The large transverse beds in the 640 ES offer an exceptionally spacious sleeping area. And if you need to get up during the night, you won’t disturb your partner.
When transporting bulky items or for easy access to the rear, the bed can be folded up. And because the step-up panel at the front can be easily removed, even very long items can be stowed – turning the Globetrail 640 ES into a practical transporter in no time.
The storage space under the single beds extends to almost 200 cm in length. If the access bulkhead is removed as shown in the illustration, long objects can be loaded through to the cab.
The lower bed is positioned lower than the beds in the other models so that you still have enough headroom despite the upper bunk bed.
(600 KS)
Despite the low position of the lower bunk bed, there is still storage space underneath for camping furniture and other holiday luggage.
(600 KS)
If the upper bunk bed is not needed, it can be reduced to a French bed with a width of 80 cm, which creates more headroom below - or it can simply be left at home (see illustration).
The bed can be removed quickly and easily.
(600 KS)
The lower bed can also be raised in the 600 KS to maximise storage space. If the access bulkhead is also removed, long objects can be loaded through to the front of the cab.
(600 KS)
And that is also possible: huge storage space downstairs and sleeping in the upper bunk bed.
(600 KS)
A clever touch: the storage net mounted beneath the overhead locker is ideal for keeping your glasses or phone safe overnight. And right next to it, a double USB socket keeps your devices charged and ready to go.
A high-quality cold foam mattress ensures a restful night’s sleep …
An extra berth can be added by converting the seating lounge into an optional transverse bed
with a generously sized sleeping area – roomy enough for an adult.

An impressively clever bathroom solution – and standard in all Globetrail ACTIVE models – the swivel bathroom makes exceptionally efficient use of space by serving two functions in one.
If you’re someone who enjoys showering inside their vehicle, you’ll just love the swivel bathroom. And if you haven’t tried it yet – now’s the time! After a long day on the road, there’s nothing better than a quick, refreshing shower. Especially when it’s this easy and convenient.
One moment it’s a regular bathroom … with a quick turn of the rear wall, it transforms into a full-sized shower cubicle.
In all layouts, the swivel bathroom includes a window in the side wall and a skylight to ensure effective airflow.
The rear wall of the swivel bathroom is a precisely moulded plastic panel that follows the contour of the outer wall. This allows it to sit flush to the outer wall when in its resting position – saving valuable space.
Folding the swivel wall to the side (over the toilet) creates a spacious shower cubicle with its own shower fitting.
Simply everything you need: a sink, hot water system, two-burner gas cooker, large worktop and lots of storage space.
Close the covers over the hob and sink, and not only does it look neat and tidy – it also gives you even more space to cook.
The fridge controls are conveniently positioned on the front of the kitchen unit.
Wondering what that little button on the far right does? That’s the heating sensor. It measures the reference temperature that tells the heating system whether it needs to kick in. So best not to hang a towel over it …!
The large 84-litre compressor fridge includes a freezer and is conveniently located right by the entrance in many models. This means it’s easily accessible from both inside and outside – so you can grab a cold drink without even stepping into the vehicle.
Cutlery, pots, kitchenware, food supplies, tins – the large drawers offer ample space and are much easier to access than standard cupboards.
In addition to the drawers, the two overhead lockers provide plenty of storage space for crockery.
The multifunctional rail system integrated into the rear wall can be fitted with a range of practical kitchen accessories – available from Dethleffs Original Accessories – from towel hooks and kitchen roll holders to a compact spice rack.
